The association OKUD “Istra” is a non-profit organization of cultural and artistic activities founded on February 15th 1959. Through its activities, it brings together all music lovers, especially young people. With its sections, it contributes to the promotion and affirmation of the cultural identity of the city of Pula, the Istrian County and the Republic of Croatia in the world. The association is particularly concerned with promoting the accordion, so the most important section in OKUD Istria is the “Stanko Mihovilić” accordion orchestra. According to the Statute, the activities that achieve the goals of OKUD "Istra" are: organization of educational music courses, seminars, workshops and other forms of individual and group teaching activities, in accordance with the needs and capabilities of OKUD "ISTRA" members, organization of chamber and orchestral music, presentation of the artistic achievements of its members through public performances, organization of the International Accordion Competition, the International Accordion Summer Academy and the Pula Guitar Fest till 2019., cooperation with other associations and organizations in the realization of the goals and activities of the Association.
